DPB thanks all the partners of "Open day 2014"

There has been an extraordinary number of visitors this year at the Open Day of Bratislava Transport Company (DPB), which took place September 20, 2014 in the Jurajov Dvor depot. DPB thanks all partners who have supported this event. Thanks to their financial contributions, the raffle prizes and media coverage we were able to organize this popular event.

The biggest attraction for the public transport fans was the renovated articulated bus TAM 272 made in Slovenia. Thanks to our employees and volunteers, under the supervision of the Tram workshops Operations manager, Ing. Peter Plunár, it looked as new. The collection of historical vehicles is thus again richer by another original addition.
The oldest bus exhibit was the Škoda 706 RTO made in 1968. Among the trolleybuses, the most valuable exhibit was the Oerlikon, made in Switzerland in 1947.
Of course, there were also the new trolleybuses - Škoda 30Tr – solo and Škoda 31Tr – articulated. Ing. Petr Kasenčák from the Trolleybus Division of Škoda Electric provided the expert commentary about them.
In addition to the rich cultural program, the visitors have enjoyed other accompanying events as well. Heartfelt thanks belongs to the representatives of ŠKP Bratislava for the opportunity to welcome Štefan Mezei, Slovak representative in box, who has brought a silver medal from European championships. The promising athlete readily gave autographs to his fans. Thanks to Young Slovanists, who again brought an inflatable castle, the youngest visitors had fun, too. Of course, everybody was looking forward to the raffle and CabrioBus rides. Present were also representatives of a company that uses a special technology to clean the vandalized vehicles – mostly from graffiti. The visitors were also interested in the showcase of trolleybus cleaning and heavy vehicle towing. After the official closing of the event, the DPB employees took many visitors for a ride around the capital city on the historical vehicles and this attractive round trip was a unique closure of this year Open Day.
„DPB opens its gates to public every year and offers the public transport fans an overview of both our unique historical vehicles and our current vehicles. We were able to update our fleet and I am sure that the citizens of Bratislava will be satisfied with the comfort offered by the new busses, trolleybuses and trams. I consider this Open Day a success and I am happy about the great interest of people who came to visit us in our depot. I also thank all our partners, who have supported this event either financially or in-kind,“ said the Board Chairman and CEO of DPB, a.s., Ing. Ľubomír Belfi.

DPB thanks all the partners and looks forward to the cooperation again next year!
